WE ARE NO LONGER ARRANGING BOOKINGS FOR THIS TOUR
Updated October 2026 by the Phuket Dream Company team (TAT licensed).
Tiger Kingdom Phuket is a big-cat attraction in Kathu, on the road between Patong and Phuket Town, where visitors can step into enclosures with tigers of different ages for a short visit with trainers. We no longer book tickets for it on this page. Travellers still ask us about it, though, so this guide covers what we know in October 2026 to help you decide whether it suits you.
Is Tiger Kingdom Phuket still open in 2026?
Yes. Independent guides updated in September 2026 list Tiger Kingdom Phuket as open every day, roughly 9am to 5pm, with last entry about an hour before closing. Opening hours, rules and prices can change without much notice, so check with the venue before you go.
Where it is and how to get there
The park is in Kathu, just over Patong Hill from Patong Beach, on the same stretch of road as several go-kart tracks and ATV operators. From Patong it is a short taxi or ride-hailing trip. From Kata, Karon, the northern beaches or Phuket Town it takes longer, so a private car is easiest, especially if you plan to combine it with another activity nearby.
How the tiger encounters work
Tickets are sold by the size and age of the tigers you want to visit, and each enclosure visit is short, around 10 minutes, with trainers inside the whole time.
- Smallest and newborn tigers: the youngest cats, and the only option for children and shorter visitors.
- Small, medium, big and giant tigers: older cats, with stricter age and height limits.
- Cheetah: a separate enclosure with its own minimum age and height.
- Walk-around: lets you look round the park without going into an enclosure.
- Combination tickets: for visiting two, three or four enclosures in one go.
Age, height and fitness rules
- Visitors under 15 or shorter than 160 cm can usually only go in with the smallest and newborn tigers.
- Children under 15 must be with a paying adult.
- The cheetah enclosure has a minimum age of 4 and a minimum height of about 110 cm.
- You need to be able to kneel or squat and stand up quickly without help. Visitors using a wheelchair or walking stick are not allowed into the enclosures.
Rules inside the enclosures
- Wash your hands before going in, and leave bags outside, because loose straps can attract the cats.
- No flash photography, no loud noises, and stay with your trainer at all times.
- Follow the trainers’ instructions on where and how to touch the tigers.
Tiger Kingdom Phuket ticket prices
Prices depend on the size of tiger and how many enclosures you choose, and the venue reviews them from time to time. Check the current rate on the day. The price table at the bottom of this page is from 2023, is kept for reference only and is no longer valid.
The welfare debate: things to consider
Close-contact tiger attractions are among the most debated activities in Thailand. The venue says its tigers are bred in captivity, hand-raised by trainers and not sedated, and that they sleep through much of the day like any cat. Animal welfare groups have long criticised attractions where people touch and pose with big cats. We suggest reading up and making your own choice. If you would rather see animals in more natural settings, observation-only experiences or a day on the water snorkelling may suit you better.
Tips if you decide to go
- Go later in the day. Guides suggest the tigers are often more active in the late afternoon.
- Wear comfortable clothes that you can kneel and crouch in.
- Photos: trainers usually take pictures on your phone, and a professional photographer is available for an extra charge.
- Make a half day of it: go-karting in Kathu and ATV rides near Patong are on the same road.

FAQ
Can I book Tiger Kingdom Phuket tickets through Phuket Dream Company?
Not any more. This page is now an information guide. Our team can suggest similar activities and arrange transport on WhatsApp.
What are the opening hours of Tiger Kingdom Phuket?
Recent guides list it as open daily from about 9am to 5pm, with last entry around 4pm. Check with the venue before you travel.
Can children go in with the tigers?
Yes, but usually only with the smallest and newborn tigers if they are under 15 or shorter than 160 cm, and always with a paying adult.
Are the tigers drugged?
The venue says they are not, and explains their sleepiness by their captive, well-fed lifestyle. Welfare groups question close-contact tiger tourism in general, so it is worth reading both sides.
How long should I allow?
Allow one to two hours including the walk-around, depending on how many enclosures you visit. Add travel time from your hotel.
Is the old price table on this page still correct?
No. It dates from 2023 and is kept for reference only. Prices are set by the venue and change from time to time.
