What to expect
Bang Rong is a small local pier set among mangroves, much less busy than Rassada Pier in Phuket Town. Check in at least 30 minutes before your departure, show the crew your voucher, and board the speedboat. The crossing over the calm, sheltered water of Phang Nga Bay is short. On Koh Yao Yai, resort vans and local taxis meet the boats; most resorts are 20 to 40 minutes’ drive from the piers, so ask your hotel to collect you.
