Tiger Kingdom Phuket is a big-cat attraction in Kathu, in the hills between Patong and Phuket Town. Visitors go into enclosures with keepers to see and touch tigers of different ages. This ticket is for the newborn tiger encounter with the youngest cubs, usually around 7–9 weeks old. It includes a framed souvenir photo and a tiger soft toy, and everyone can join. Newborn cubs aren’t always available, as this depends on the breeding programme, so the team will confirm before your booking is final.

What to expect
At Tiger Kingdom, keepers take small groups into the enclosure for a timed session. They show you where and how to touch the cubs, usually with a firm stroke along the back rather than the head or paws. Cubs are playful and can nip or scratch, so follow the keepers’ instructions at all times. A staff photographer takes your souvenir photo, and you can also use your own camera or phone.
Things to consider before you book
Tiger encounters are a personal choice, and some travellers prefer not to visit attractions where people handle wild animals. If that’s you, we’re happy to suggest other activities around Kathu and Patong. If you do visit, choose a reputable venue, follow the rules, and don’t use flash.
Tips
- Wear closed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Avoid dangling jewellery and loose scarves.
- Go in the morning if you can. Tigers are often more active when it’s cooler.
- Don’t wake sleeping cats, and don’t crouch down near the bigger tigers. Follow the keepers’ instructions exactly.
- Bring cash for extra photos or drinks on site.
