What to expect

1. Hotel pickup in the morning (times in the tables below) and transfer to Royal Phuket Marina on the east coast.
2. Speedboat to Phi Phi Leh – the Phi Phi group lies about 40 km south-east of Phuket.
3. Maya Bay – boats moor at Loh Samah Bay and you walk across on a boardwalk. Swimming isn’t allowed in Maya Bay, but you can paddle at the shoreline and take photos.
4. Pileh Lagoon – swim and snorkel in a lagoon enclosed by cliffs, then pass Viking Cave.
5. Monkey Beach – watch the macaques from a distance. Don’t feed them.
6. Phi Phi Don – buffet lunch at a beach restaurant and free time.
7. Khai Island – white sand and clear, shallow water for snorkelling before the short ride back to Phuket.
8. Return to the marina in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.

The order of stops may change with tides, weather and national park rules.

Season notes

Maya Bay closes every year for about two months so the reef can recover. In 2026 it closed from 1 August to 30 September and reopened on 1 October. During the closure, the tour visits the other stops. From about May to October the southwest monsoon can bring rough seas, and the route may change or the trip may be cancelled for safety.

• Swimwear, beach towel, light T-shirt and a change of clothes.
• Reef-safe sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.
• Camera or phone in a waterproof pouch.
• Passport copy or photo ID.
• Some cash for drinks and souvenirs.

Tips from our team

• Speedboats can be bumpy in open water. Sit near the back for a smoother ride, and take seasickness tablets if you need them.
• Speedboat tours are generally not recommended for pregnant women, babies or anyone with back or neck problems.
• Mornings are the most crowded time at Maya Bay. The guide will time the visit to suit the day’s conditions.

Can I swim at Maya Bay?
