Pileh Lagoon is one of the most beautiful spots in the Phi Phi Islands: a sheltered inlet of emerald-green water almost completely enclosed by sheer limestone cliffs on Koh Phi Phi Leh, just around the corner from Maya Bay. This day trip from Phuket by premium speedboat combines Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon and the white sand of Bamboo Island in one easy day.

What is Pileh Lagoon?
Pileh (also spelled Pi Leh or Phi Leh) Lagoon is a narrow bay on the east side of Koh Phi Phi Leh, the uninhabited island of the Phi Phi group. Towering cliffs rise on three sides, so the water stays calm and glows turquoise to jade green on a sunny day. Boats enter through a gap in the rocks, and it is one of the most photographed places in Thailand. Phi Phi Leh is part of the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, and park rules on where boats may stop and where you may swim can change, so your guide will explain what is allowed on the day.
Maya Bay: what to know in 2026
- Maya Bay closes every year for nature recovery, usually from 1 August to 30 September. In 2026 it reopened on 1 October.
- Boats no longer pull up on the beach. They moor at a pontoon in Loh Samah Bay on the other side of the island, and you walk to Maya Beach on a short wooden boardwalk.
- Swimming in Maya Bay is not allowed – you can paddle at the water’s edge only.
- Visitor numbers are limited, so time on the beach is usually around an hour.
What to expect on the day
- Pickup – collection from your hotel between about 07.00 and 08.10 depending on your area, then transfer to Visit Panwa Pier on Phuket’s south-east coast.

- Maya Bay – walk across from the Loh Samah pontoon and enjoy the beach.
- Pileh Lagoon – view the lagoon, or take the optional longtail trip for a closer look (prices below).
- Bamboo Island – finish with time to swim and relax on Bamboo Island’s long white beach.
- Return to Phuket – back at the pier in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
The order of stops can change with weather, tides and park rules.
