A luxury speed catamaran is one of the most comfortable ways to see the Phi Phi Islands from Phuket. You get the speed of a speedboat with the stability, shade and deck space of a catamaran, so the crossing is smoother and there is room to stretch out between stops. What to expect on the day

After hotel pickup you are driven to Royal Phuket Marina for check-in and a short briefing. The catamaran then heads across the Andaman Sea to the Phi Phi group.

• Phi Phi Leh: cruise past the cliffs, stop at Pileh Lagoon for a swim and snorkel, and see Viking Cave from the water.
• Maya Bay: boats land at the back of the island and you walk through to the beach. Swimming is not allowed in the bay itself, but you can paddle in the shallows and take photos.
• Phi Phi Don: buffet lunch with drinks at Tonsai Bay.
• Monkey Beach: a short stop to see the macaques from the boat or the sand.
• Bamboo Island: relax on the beach and snorkel before the return cruise to Phuket.

The order of stops can change with the tide, the weather and park rules on the day. Your guide will explain the plan on board.

Maya Bay in 2026

Maya Bay is part of Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park and is managed to protect the reef. It closes every year for about two months in the low season (in 2026 it was closed through August and September and reopened on 1 October). Visits are limited in time, and swimming in the bay is not permitted. If the bay is closed or restricted on your date, the boat visits other viewpoints on Phi Phi Leh instead.

Pickup and meeting point

Free pickup is included from Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Tri Trang, Patong and Chalong. Other areas can be added for a small extra charge per person. The full pickup times by area are listed in the tables below. If you prefer to make your own way, the team can give you the meeting time at Royal Phuket Marina.

What to bring

• Swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes
• Reef-safe sunscreen (some chemical sunscreens are banned in Thai marine parks), a hat and sunglasses
• A waterproof bag or phone pouch
• Some cash for drinks, souvenirs or any park fee not included in your ticket
• Seasickness tablets if you are sensitive to motion

Tips from our team

• Sit on the foredeck on the way out for the views, then move inside if the sea picks up.
• Do not feed or touch the monkeys at Monkey Beach and keep food and bags closed.
• November to April usually brings the calmest seas and clearest water.

FAQ

Is a speed catamaran better than a speedboat for Phi Phi?
For most people, yes. The twin hulls make it more stable and there is more shade and space, which suits families, older travellers and anyone who gets seasick.

Can I swim at Maya Bay?
No. Swimming in Maya Bay is not allowed. You can walk on the beach and paddle in the shallows. Swimming and snorkelling happen at the other stops.

Is the national park fee included?
Park fees for Phi Phi are set by the national park and may be collected separately. The team will confirm what is included when you book.

Does the tour run every day?
Yes, it operates daily, weather permitting. In rough weather the captain may change the route or the trip may be rescheduled.

Is it suitable for children?
Yes. Child prices apply from 4 to 11 years. Life jackets are provided on board.

Can I book a private catamaran to Phi Phi instead?
