The crossing takes about an hour, landing at Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Don, a short walk from the main village and many hotels. Speedboats leave from Kong Ka Pier in Krabi at 09:15, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00 and 16:00 and arrive at Tonsai Pier about one hour later (see the timetable below). For the Phi Phi to Krabi direction, the team will confirm the current departure times when you book.
How it works
- Wait in your hotel lobby (or at Krabi Airport) for the pickup to the pier.
- Show your voucher to the boat staff at the pier and check in.
- Cross the Andaman Sea by speedboat in about an hour.
- Arrive at Tonsai Pier and walk to your hotel, or take the optional longtail boat to Laem Tong.
Tips for the crossing
- Pack light – a soft bag is easier to carry on and off a speedboat.
- Keep passports, phones and medicine in a small waterproof bag with you.
- Seas can be rougher from May to October; take seasickness tablets if needed.
- Choose a morning boat if you want a full afternoon on Phi Phi.
- Allow plenty of time if you are connecting with a flight.
