The ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi is the simplest way to reach Koh Phi Phi from the mainland. This ticket is for the shared big-boat ferry from Klong Jilad Pier in Krabi Town to Ton Sai Pier on Phi Phi Don. The ferry leaves at 10:30 and arrives at about 12:30 (see the schedule below). It’s a good choice if you’re travelling with luggage, as it’s steadier and roomier than a speedboat.

Klong Jilad Pier: how to get there
Klong Jilad Pier (also spelt Khlong Chilat) is the main passenger pier for Krabi Town, about 4 km south-west of the town centre. Taxis and ride-hailing apps can take you there from town. From Ao Nang or Krabi Airport the journey is longer, so allow enough time. Arrive at the pier at least 30–45 minutes before departure to check in and load your bags.
Arriving on Koh Phi Phi
- Ton Sai Pier is in the main village on Phi Phi Don, within walking distance of many hotels.
- Phi Phi has no cars. Porters with carts and longtail boat taxis take you and your bags to hotels further away.
- A small island fee is usually collected from visitors at Ton Sai Pier. Keep some cash in Thai baht.

Travel tips
- Keep your passport, phone and valuables with you, in a waterproof bag if you’ll sit outside.
- From May to October the sea can be rough. Departures may be delayed or cancelled for safety.
- If you’re flying into Krabi, give yourself plenty of time between landing and the ferry.
- Take seasickness tablets before you board if you need them.
