Railay to Phi Phi ferry schedule
The current timetable is in the schedule table below this guide: a morning ferry leaving Railay at 09.45 (arriving about 11.30) and an afternoon ferry at 15.45 (arriving about 17.30). The morning boat gives you most of the day on Phi Phi. Departures can be reduced in the low season (roughly May to October), when operators sometimes run one boat a day – the team will confirm which departure is running on your date.
How boarding works at Railay
Railay has no deep-water pier, so the big ferry does not tie up on the beach. Depending on the season and the tide, passengers either board from the floating pier on Railay East or are taken out to the ferry by longtail boat from the beach. Your exact meeting point is confirmed when the team confirms your booking. Please be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes before departure.
Arriving on Koh Phi Phi
The ferry docks at Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Don. The village has no cars, so you walk (or hire a porter with a trolley) to your accommodation. Hotels on beaches away from the village, such as Laem Tong, usually need an extra longtail transfer – check with your hotel before you travel.
What to bring and tips
- A daypack for valuables; large bags are stored on deck or in the luggage area.
- Shoes you do not mind getting wet if you board by longtail from the beach.
- Cash in small notes for porters and any local fees on arrival.
- Seasickness tablets if you are prone to it, especially in the monsoon months.
- Sunscreen and a hat – the outside deck has little shade.
