*We are sorry this boat is NOT Operate anymore*
The 7 island tour in Krabi is one of the most popular trips on the Andaman coast: an afternoon of island hopping around the Krabi coast, ending with sunset at sea and, on some nights, glowing plankton in the water. This page was for an afternoon sunset version on a large boat, picking up from Krabi hotels.

What is the Krabi 7 islands tour?
The trip covers the small islands off Ao Nang and Railay, inside the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. Routes vary by operator, but typically include:
- Koh Poda: a long white beach with a limestone tower just offshore
- Chicken Island (Koh Kai): named after its rock that looks like a chicken’s head
- Koh Tup and Koh Mor: linked by a sandbar you can walk across at low tide (Talay Waek)
- Snorkelling stops around the smaller islands and rocks nearby
- Railay and Phra Nang area for views of the cliffs at sunset
Afternoon sunset versions usually end with time on the water after dark, when you can sometimes see bioluminescent plankton sparkling as you move your hands through the sea. Plankton depends on the moon, season and sea conditions, so it can never be guaranteed.
7 island tour from Phuket?
The 7 islands trip starts from Krabi, not Phuket. If you are based in Phuket, the closest options are the Phi Phi and Khai Islands, James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay, or a day trip to Krabi’s 4 islands. The team can advise which works best from your hotel.
What to bring
- Swimwear, towel and a change of clothes
- Reef-safe sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
- Cash for the national park fee (usually not included in Krabi island tours)
- A waterproof bag and a light jacket for the evening boat ride
Tips
- The calmest months for Krabi island tours are November to April.
- Check the tide: the Talay Waek sandbar is only fully exposed around low tide.
- Choose a darker evening near the new moon for the best chance of seeing plankton.
