Koh Samui Private Speedboat Charter Island Tours

A Samui private speedboat charter gives your group its own speedboat and crew for the day, so you can visit Ang Thong Marine Park, Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, Koh Phangan or the quieter islands of Koh Tan and Koh Madsum without sharing with strangers. Boats leave from Bangrak Pier in the north-east of Koh Samui, and the day is planned around your group, whether that is snorkelling, beaches or a slower family pace.

Samui private speedboat charter routes

Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan

The best snorkelling day from Samui, with clear water and plenty of fish around Koh Tao and the sandbar-linked islets of Koh Nang Yuan. Koh Nang Yuan charges its own landing fee, which is not included.

Ang Thong National Marine Park

A typical day starts with snorkelling at Koh Wao, followed by lunch at Koh Wua Talap (the park headquarters island). After lunch you can climb to the viewpoint, explore the cave, hire a kayak or relax on the beach, then visit Koh Mae Ko to see the Thale Nai inner lagoon before heading back around 17:00. A national park fee applies and is paid separately.

Around Koh Phangan

A loop around Samui’s neighbour, stopping at bays and beaches that are hard to reach by road.

Koh Tan and Koh Madsum

The gentlest option, close to Samui’s south coast and well suited to families and older travellers. Expect swimming and snorkelling stops, beach time and a simple local lunch.

Pickup and meeting point

The boat departs from Bangrak Pier. Hotel transfers are not included in the charter price, but a round-trip car can be added for most areas of Samui (rates below).

Can you take a speedboat from Phuket to Koh Samui?

No. Phuket is on the Andaman Sea and Koh Samui is in the Gulf of Thailand, on the other side of the Thai peninsula, so there is no boat between them. The usual overland route is a road transfer across to the Surat Thani coast followed by the ferry to Samui, which takes most of a day. Flying is much quicker. Our team can arrange the transfer or check flights for you, then book your Samui charter for when you arrive.

Tips

• Ang Thong can close during storms and has an annual closure for rehabilitation, which has been reported for November. Our team will check the current status before you book.
• The Gulf side has a different weather pattern from Phuket, with the heaviest rain and wind usually towards the end of the year.
• Lunch, a guide and water activities are not included, so tell us if you would like them arranged.

FAQ

How many people can join a private boat?
The rates below cover up to 15 guests on a 2-engine boat and up to 30 on a 3-engine boat. For larger groups, ask the team about extra boats.

Is lunch included?
No. Lunch is usually at a local restaurant on the islands. The team can advise or arrange it.

Can we do a half-day charter?
Half-day trips have been possible on the shorter routes, such as Koh Tan and Koh Madsum. Ask the team to confirm.

Are national park fees included?
No. National park and island fees are paid separately on the day.

Is there a boat from Phuket to Koh Samui?
No. You need to go overland to the Surat Thani coast and take the ferry, or fly.

What if the sea is too rough?
The captain decides on safety grounds. If a route cannot run, the team will help you change the date or the route.
