Day Trip Adventure Rafting – ATV – Flying Fox Phuket

Phuket has no rivers big enough for rafting, so the island’s white water rafting trips head north to Song Phraek in neighbouring Phang Nga province. This full-day adventure combines 5 km of rafting with an hour on an ATV, a rope bridge and a flying fox, all at a jungle camp surrounded by forest reserve – with hotel pickup from Phuket included.

Where is the rafting from Phuket?

The camp is at Song Phraek in Mueang Phang Nga district, about 110 km from Phuket Town. The drive takes around 1.5–2 hours each way, so this is a full day out. The area is mostly national forest reserve with small farming villages, and the camp works with the local community.

What to expect on the day

1. Morning pickup – collection between about 07.20 and 09.30 depending on your area (see the pickup table below), then the drive north to Phang Nga.
2. Safety briefing – helmets and life jackets are fitted and the guides explain paddling and safety commands.
3. White water rafting – 5 km on the river with a guide in each raft. The water level, and how lively the rapids are, depends on recent rainfall.
4. Lunch – a Thai lunch at the camp.
5. ATV, rope bridge and flying fox – an hour on an ATV along forest tracks, then the rope bridge and flying fox.
6. Return – drive back to Phuket, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.

What to bring

• Swimwear or quick-dry clothes you do not mind getting wet and muddy
• A full change of clothes and a towel
• Sandals with straps or old trainers – no flip-flops on the raft
• Sunscreen, insect repellent, hat and sunglasses
• A waterproof pouch for your phone and some cash

Who can join?

The child price covers ages 6–12. Rafting and ATV riding are physical activities, so they are not suitable for pregnant travellers or anyone with heart, back or serious health problems. Age, height and weight limits for the ATV and flying fox are set by the camp – please tell us the ages of everyone in your group and the team will confirm what each person can do.

Frequently asked questions

Can you go white water rafting in Phuket?
Not on the island itself. Rafting trips from Phuket go to rivers in Phang Nga province, about 1.5–2 hours away, with hotel transfers included.

How difficult is the rafting?
It is a beginner-friendly river with guides in every raft. Rapids are livelier after heavy rain (usually in the wet season, roughly May to October) and gentler in the dry months.

Do I need experience to ride the ATV?
No. Staff give a short briefing before you set off. Let us know if you would rather ride as a passenger.

Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch is served at the camp.

What is the rafting price from Phuket?

Does it run in the rainy season?
Yes, the tour operates every day. In very heavy rain the guides may change or shorten the river section for safety.
