Big Buddha Phuket ATV Tour Jungle Adventure with Sea Views

This Phuket ATV tour is a guided off-road adventure through rubber plantations, farmland and jungle tracks in the hills of southern Phuket, with stops at sea viewpoints and the Big Buddha. You drive your own 200cc ATV – a larger quad that gives a smoother ride – and can take a passenger on the back.

What to expect on the Phuket ATV tour

After pickup you meet your guide for a safety briefing and a practice run. You then set off on a mix of off-road and quiet road tracks through rubber plantations and small villages, stopping at viewpoints for photos. On the longer rides you visit the Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill, with wide views over Chalong Bay, Kata and Karon. Keep an eye out for monkeys along the way.

Pickup times

Pickups run morning, midday and afternoon. Free pickup from Patong, Karon, Kata, Rawai and Chalong; Kamala, Phuket Town, Panwa, Siray, Laem Hin, Surin, Bang Tao, Laguna and Layan carry an extra charge per person. See the table below.

What to bring

• Clothes and shoes you do not mind getting muddy
• Something that covers shoulders and knees (or a sarong) for the Big Buddha
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Your driving licence, in case the operator asks for it

Tips

• Morning and late-afternoon rides are cooler.
• The tracks are muddier in the rainy season (May to October) – that is half the fun.
• Children ride as passengers with an adult; the team will confirm the operator’s age rules for drivers.
• Do not drink alcohol before riding.

FAQ

Do I need experience to drive an ATV?
No. You get a safety briefing and a short practice before setting off.

Can two people share an ATV?
Yes. One person drives and a passenger can ride on the back at the passenger price.

Does every ride visit the Big Buddha?
The 1-hour, 1.5-hour and 2-hour rides include the Big Buddha. The 30-minute ride covers the sea view and jungle only.

Is there a dress code at the Big Buddha?
Yes, shoulders and knees should be covered. Sarongs are available at the entrance.

Is hotel pickup included?
Yes, free from Patong, Kata, Karon, Rawai and Chalong. Other areas have a small extra charge.

What if it rains?
Rides usually go ahead in light rain. In heavy weather the team will contact you on WhatsApp.
