The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival is one of Thailand’s biggest fireworks events. Over two nights, pyrotechnic teams from different countries take turns launching displays over Pattaya Bay, set to music. In 2026 the festival returns on 27–28 November, as reported by local Pattaya media in October 2026. The beach is free to watch from, and the atmosphere is part beach party, part street-food fair.

- Times: in recent years, opening ceremonies started around 7.15pm and the competition displays ran through the evening, each lasting roughly 40–50 minutes. Pattaya City usually confirms the running order closer to the date.

Where to watch
The fireworks are launched over the sea in front of central Pattaya Beach, so the whole of Beach Road has a view. The middle of the beach is busiest. The northern end towards Naklua is calmer but a little further from the action. Sea-view hotel rooms and rooftop terraces get booked up weeks ahead for these two nights.
Getting there
- From Bangkok: Pattaya is about two hours by road. Buses leave from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai), or you can take a private car or taxi.
- From Phuket: fly to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang) or to U-Tapao (Pattaya) where flights run, then continue by road.
- Around Pattaya: songthaews (shared pick-up trucks) run along Beach Road and Second Road until late. Traffic near the beach is very heavy before and after the shows, so it is often quicker to walk.
Tips for the festival
- Book your hotel early. Sea-view rooms on Beach Road go first.
- Arrive at the beach by late afternoon. The best spots are taken by around 7pm.
- Bring a beach mat, water and insect repellent, and keep your valuables close in the crowds.
- Food stalls and live music start from the afternoon, so come hungry.
- After the show, wait a while before trying to leave. The roads clear faster than the crowds.
