Comprising five idyllic islands in the Andaman Sea, Surin Island National Park is one of the jewels in Thailand’s marine treasure chest. Due to its remote setting, the archipelago has been preserved as a tropical paradise and boasts some of the best snorkelling near Phuket.
This full-day speedboat tour from Phuket will whisk you away to this gorgeous setting where you will have plenty of time to snorkel and relax on the Surin Islands’ beautiful beaches. While most of the archipelago is uninhabited, one of the islands is populated by sea gypsies, who live according to long-established traditions.
Including all national park fees, an English-speaking guide and a delicious buffet lunch, this full-day Surin Island National Park tour is ideal for those who want to escape the crowds. It’s important to note, however, that it does include a long van trip to reach the departure pier. But trust us, the journey is more than worth it!
Itinerary
After being picked up from your Phuket hotel between 6:30 and 6:45 am, you will be transferred to the Namkhem Pier (around 1.4 hours away). On arrival, a light breakfast with tea and coffee will be served as your eco-tour guide leads you through a short briefing.
It’s then time to hop onto one of our first-class speedboats and head towards Surin Island National Park, with the journey taking around 50 minutes. Rest and relax on board during the trip as you prepare for your first snorkelling session to experience the archipelago’s underwater abundance. If you prefer not to snorkel, you can kick back on the beautiful sands of Twin Beach overlooking the Pineapple Gulf.
Around 11:00 am, we will continue to the Sea Gypsy Moken Village to learn about the traditional lifestyle of these sea-dwelling people. A delicious buffet lunch will be served on the beach at midday, including fresh, tropical fruits and beverages.
Once you’ve rested and refuelled, it’s time to again hit the water for another snorkelling session, this time in the Mae Yai and Tao gulfs. Marvel at the colourful coral reefs and vibrant marine life before we depart from Surin Island just after 3:00 pm.
After arriving safely back at the pier, you will be transferred back to your Phuket hotel, ending an unforgettable day.
