Phuket to Phi Phi Island Speedboat Transfer Tickets

The Phuket to Phi Phi speedboat is the quickest regular way across: about an hour from Rassada Pier on Phuket’s east coast to Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi Don, roughly half the time of the big ferry. This ticket is for the scheduled P P Sabai Marine speedboat, with shared hotel pickup available from many Phuket areas.

What to expect on the day

Once you book, we send you a voucher by email. On the day, the van collects you from your hotel (or you make your own way to Rassada Pier), you check in at the operator’s counter with your voucher and board the speedboat. The boat runs straight across to Tonsai Pier, the main pier in Tonsai village, where most Phi Phi hotels are a short walk or longtail ride away.

Coming back, be at Tonsai Pier at least 30 minutes before your departure time. If you booked a return transfer, the van meets the boat at Rassada Pier and drops you at your hotel.

Speedboat or ferry?

The speedboat saves about an hour each way, which matters on a short stay. The large ferry is slower but rolls less, so it can be the better choice if you get seasick or are travelling with lots of luggage. We also sell the Phi Phi Cruiser ferry ticket.

Pickup and meeting point

Shared pickup is free from Area 1 (Patong, Kata, Karon, Chalong, Phuket Town and Koh Sirey). Area 2 has a per-person charge, and Area 3 is private van only; see the transfer table below. Your pickup time is confirmed after booking. If you are making your own way, go to the Rassada Pier passenger terminal, just east of Phuket Town.

What to bring

• Your voucher (on your phone is fine) and passport or ID
• A dry bag or plastic cover for phones and electronics, as spray is common
• Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat
• Seasickness tablets if you are prone to it, taken before boarding
• Some Thai baht in cash: a small landing fee is usually collected at Tonsai Pier on arrival

Tips from our team

• From May to October the Andaman Sea is rougher and boats can be delayed or cancelled for safety. Leave a buffer before onward flights.
• Pack heavy luggage in a soft bag; crew lift bags on and off the boat.
• Phi Phi has no cars, so arrange your hotel’s porter or a longtail in advance if your hotel is away from Tonsai.
• If you also want to see Maya Bay, note that it closes every year from 1 August to 30 September.

How long is the speedboat from Phuket to Phi Phi?
Around one hour from Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier in normal conditions. Rough seas can add time.

Is hotel pickup included?
Shared van pickup is free from Area 1. Other areas have a charge or private van option, shown in the table below.

Can I take my suitcase?
Yes, one bag of up to about 20 kg per person. Tell us when booking if you have extra or oversized luggage.

Do the boats run in the low season?
Boats operate year-round, but from May to October trips can be cancelled at short notice because of weather. We will contact you on WhatsApp if your boat is affected.

Is the speedboat suitable for children?
Yes, child tickets are available for ages 4 to 11. Life jackets are on board. In rough weather the ride can be bumpy, so the ferry may be more comfortable for small children.

What time should I arrive at the pier?
Aim to be at the pier at least 30 minutes before departure. If you have booked pickup, the van timing allows for this.
