Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary,

We are a large family that has coexisted with humans and elephants for two generations. Together, we’re working and looking out for one another. Here is an elephant sanctuary in Krabi, where we treat elephants as “family members” rather than merely as animals. Elephants weren’t wild animals in the past, but they did act as the King’s sidekicks in battle. Many Thai dynasty chronicles mention elephants fighting with humans. As a result, the elephant became a national symbol and was featured in the Thai national flag. Not to mention, some elephants put in a lot of effort when establishing cities.

The major goal of the Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary is to help the Southern Elephants Hospital in addition to letting people come up close and personal with these magnificent elephants and learn about coexisting harmoniously. In order to keep our large family safe and to provide for their higher quality of life, we wish to contribute and assist them. We want to help care for them the way they used to care for us in the past.
