This Krabi sunset tour heads out by longtail boat in the afternoon to the Hong Islands, part of Than Bok Khorani National Park, for snorkelling, beach time, a sunset BBQ and a night swim among glowing plankton. It is a laid-back alternative to the morning island tours: you skip the early start, enjoy the islands as the day boats leave, and come back under the stars. Pickup is free from Ao Nang.

- Lading Island: a small island once used for collecting swiftlet nests for bird’s nest soup.
- Sunset and BBQ: dinner on the beach as the sun goes down.
- Plankton swim: after dark, move your hands in the water to see the plankton light up, then return to Ao Nang.
Stops can change with the tide, the light and the weather.
Glowing plankton: what to know
Bioluminescent plankton is natural and never guaranteed. It is easiest to see on dark nights away from a bright moon and after calm weather. Even on a quiet night, the sunset and the islands make the trip worthwhile.
National park fee
The Hong Islands are in a national park. As shown in the rate table, the park fee is not included and is paid separately on the day.
Hong Island from Phuket
This tour starts from Krabi. If you are staying in Phuket, Hong Island is usually visited on a Phang Nga Bay day trip by speedboat or big boat. Ask our team for the Phuket options.
