Koh Khai is a cluster of three small islands in Phang Nga Bay, just off Phuket’s east coast: Khai Nok, Khai Nui and Khai Nai. “Khai” means egg in Thai, a nod to their rounded shape. This half-day Koh Khai island tour is a morning speedboat trip with snorkelling in shallow, clear water and time on soft white sand, then back to your hotel by early afternoon.

What to expect

• Morning pickup from your hotel and transfer to the departure pier on Phuket’s east coast.
• Khai Nok: the best known of the three, with a sandy beach and clear water for swimming.
• Khai Nui: a smaller island with good snorkelling just off the shore.
• Khai Nai: quieter sand, palm trees and the island cats.
• Return by speedboat to the pier and transfer back to your hotel.

Optional extras such as beach chairs or drinks on the islands are paid locally.

Pickup

Free pickup is included from Phuket Town, Kata, Karon, Tri Trang, Patong and Kalim. Kamala and Koh Kaew have a small per-person charge, and further areas are charged per van. See the full times in the tables below. Pickup starts early (from around 07:15 in Kata), so have breakfast ready.

• Water shoes – some entry points have rocks and broken coral
